ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Today, organizers of the Michigan Growth Capital Symposium (MGCS) and this year’s jointly hosted Coulter Investment Forum issued a final call for conference registration, as record attendance is anticipated at this year’s 36th annual event. More than 500 entrepreneurs, investors, researchers and business executives are expected to convene for the two-day conference, which will be held May 16-17 at the Marriott Resort in Ypsilanti, Mich.

As the region’s premier venture fair and first university-backed investment forum of its kind, MGCS will host investors from across the U.S. for two days of networking, company presentations and panel discussions. Earlier this week, the roster of 60 high-growth companies seeking institutional investment was unveiled. These companies from around the U.S. span a range of industries from life sciences to technology.

This year’s MGCS will feature keynote addresses from Clay Thorp, general partner of Hatteras Venture Partners, and Markus Lampinen, CEO of Crowd Valley, along with panel discussions covering topics and trends in entrepreneurship and venture capital led by industry experts and a Technology Transfer Pitch Track. An evening reception will be held at the U-M football stadium the first day of the conference where attendees will have the chance to network on and off the field. Post-symposium, the University of Michigan Medical School and Fast Forward Medical Innovation will host the Biomedical Innovation Cup, which will showcase five biomedical startups from the State of Michigan.

MGCS is hosted by the University of Michigan’s Center for Venture Capital & Private Equity Finance with support from the Michigan Venture Capital Association. The Coulter Investment Forum is hosted by the Wallace H. Coulter Foundation.
