SAN FRANCISCO, April 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — 802 Secure, Inc has an investment of $6M to further develop its two core products:  AirShield (Internet of Things defense platform) and P25CleanRF (proactive 24×7 cybersecurity monitoring solution for First Responders). 802 Secure is a leader in the IoT wireless defense markets having developed a proactive defense-in-depth approach. Through its patent-pending technology, 802 Secure safely and non-intrusively scans an enterprise’s air space, giving security personnel comprehensive visibility into every RF-emitting device on premise. As a result, companies can accurately quantify risk and mitigate threats. The funding follows on the heels of 802 Secure being awarded Start Up of the Year (2015), Company of the Year (2016) and most recently CEO of the Year (2017).

Daylight Investors LLC, Los Angeles, CA led the investment. “What the 802 team has accomplished is incredibly impressive. We are very much looking forward to partnering with the 802 team and ramping up product development and deployment,” said Steven Shipp, Operating Partner of Daylight.

The problem with IoT, is the fragmentation of thousands of different operating systems and applications. Trying to continuously identify, qualify and assess risks is simply not possible with the tools that are commercially available today. This void in the market represents the opportunity that 802 Secure has tackled.

“IoT fragmentation, disparate standards, and legacy security technologies repurposed for IoT have left organizations ill-equipped in securing their wireless networks and devices. Using patent-pending network anomaly-based learning, 802 Secure simplifies deployment, assessment, and protection of current IoT and legacy wireless networks, while paving the path to adapt to new wireless risks and threats,” said Mike Raggo, Chief Security Officer

“I am excited to have Mike Raggo join the team as our Chief Security Officer. He has a wealth of experience in wireless security and will be a tremendous asset in helping us differentiate, innovate and build world-class products,” said Garry Drummond, Founder-CEO of 802 Secure.
