Construction on the Christiansburg duplex on Johnson Street began in April this year. With a passion to make a difference, more than 45 employees from the 1901 Group Blacksburg, VA, office devoted over 150 hours to assist with the community duplex build. As part of the Habitat for Humanity initiative to provide families the housing they need, and with the crew’s guidance, 1901 Group volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help build a porch, paint the interior, and construct the foundation with the dual goal of finishing a home that will house two families and supporting the vision that everyone needs a foundation to build a better future.

“We are proud to support Habitat for Humanity of the New River Valley as they set out to empower and strengthen their community by building stable homes. “Habitat for Humanity has always been an organization that moved me with their mission and countless accomplishments – to creating affordable housing across the nation for families,” said Hiltonsmith. “It’s been an amazing journey to see the positive impact and memories we have created together. Selecting Habitat for Humanity as our community service initiative allows us the opportunity to truly make a difference to help serve the community and foster the culture of teamwork.”
